Edge Cache
Edge Cache is WP Stratos’s own caching and traffic-protection layer, sitting in front of your site regardless of how your DNS is configured. From a site’s Edge Cache settings you can:- Enable or disable Edge Cache for the site.
- Purge the edge cache on demand, useful right after a design change or content update you need visitors to see immediately.
- Turn on Defensive Mode during a traffic spike or suspected attack, and choose how long it stays active: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours, or 7 days.
Cloudflare Settings
If your domain uses WP Stratos-managed nameservers, you also get a Cloudflare settings panel scoped to that domain, separate from Edge Cache. From here you can:- Check your domain’s Cloudflare connection status.
- Open Manage Records to jump into DNS record management (the same DNS Zone Editor covered in DNS Configuration).
- Purge Cloudflare’s cache for the domain.
- Turn on Development Mode, which temporarily bypasses caching so you can see changes reflected immediately while you’re actively working on the site.
- Toggle Browser Integrity Check (on by default), which screens out requests with headers commonly associated with spam bots and threats.
- Set a Security Level: Off (Enterprise), Essentially Off, Low, Medium, High, or I’m Under Attack. Higher levels challenge more visitors before letting them through, which cuts down on bad traffic but can occasionally challenge a legitimate visitor too.
These Cloudflare-specific controls are only available once the Cloudflare proxy is enabled on your domain’s root A and CNAME records. If you haven’t turned the proxy on, this panel won’t show these options, since the proxy is what actually routes your traffic through Cloudflare’s network in the first place.
