Nameservers are the internet’s way of finding out which DNS provider is authoritative for your domain. By default, your domain uses the nameservers provided by your registrar. Switching to WP Stratos nameservers delegates all DNS authority to WP Stratos, letting you manage every DNS record — A, CNAME, MX, TXT, and more — directly inside the Cloud Panel.

WP Stratos Nameservers

Use these nameservers when updating your domain at any registrar:
Using WP Stratos nameservers unlocks the full DNS management experience inside the Cloud Panel. You can add, edit, and delete DNS records, and any domain connected to your site benefits from automatic SSL provisioning. Without WP Stratos nameservers, DNS records must be managed at your external provider.

How to Update Nameservers

The exact steps vary by registrar, but the process is similar everywhere: find the nameserver settings for your domain and replace the existing entries with the WP Stratos nameservers above.

Log in to your registrar

Sign in to your domain registrar’s control panel or account dashboard.

Locate your domain

Find the domain you want to update in your list of registered domains and open its settings.

Find the nameserver settings

Look for a section labelled Nameservers, DNS Settings, or Name Server Management. This is sometimes nested under Advanced Settings or Domain Management.

Switch to custom nameservers

If your registrar defaults to its own nameservers, select the option for Custom, Other, or Use my own nameservers.

Replace existing nameservers

Delete all existing nameserver entries and add the following two:

Save your changes

Click Save or Update. Your registrar may send a confirmation email or ask you to verify the change.
Changing nameservers can cause up to 48 hours of DNS disruption for your domain. During propagation, some visitors may reach your old hosting provider while others reach WP Stratos. Plan nameserver changes during a low-traffic period and notify any stakeholders in advance.

After Updating Nameservers

Once your nameserver change has propagated, WP Stratos becomes fully authoritative for your domain’s DNS. However, DNS records from your previous provider are not automatically imported. You will need to manually recreate any records you rely on — such as MX records for email or CNAME records for third-party services — inside the Cloud Panel. Before you make the switch, take note of all existing DNS records at your current provider so you can recreate them without interruption.
